Danielle Savre Teases Enigmatic Found Role and Previews Our Exclusive Sneak Peek
If you haven’t tuned into Found, we can tell you right now that you’re missing out on one of the most gripping series on television. We’ve discussed in our comprehensive and in-depth reviews how strong the sophomore season is, and the series is easily one of the Best of 2024.
A remarkable cast, powerful storytelling, and fantastic character exploration keep us glued to the screen every week as we untangle the web of mysteries, missing persons, and the backgrounds of Gabi and Lacey. Another exciting development is on the horizon when Found returns with a MUST-SEE midseason premiere.
An integral part of the intrigue is the introduction of a new and enigmatic character: Heather — an attorney who will immerse herself in M&A and beyond. Fans are already sharing theories about her. And if the character alone isn’t intriguing enough, the actress playing her certainly is.
As long-time Station 19 fanatics, Danielle Savre joining one of our favorite shows left us ecstatic. Ahead of the holidays, TV Fanatic had the privilege of hopping on Zoom with this warm, insightful, and gorgeous star to discuss her new character.
She talks about transitioning to this role after seven years as Maya Bishop, the complexities of Heather, exploring trauma and healing through Found, and even a bit of fashion.
Below is our exclusive interview — plus a sneak peek of her introduction.
TV FANATIC: Hi, how are you?
SAVRE: Hi, Jasmine. I’m good. How are you?
TV FANATIC: I’m great. I’m excited to talk to you. We’re huge Station 19 fans here at TV Fanatic, and I covered the series for a few years.
SAVRE: I saw. Thank you for all the amazing articles! You were one of the ones who did the Found announcement when I booked it, so thank you so much for all the love and support.
TV FANATIC: Of course! On that topic, you’ve traded in the blazing fires for blazers and heels, and that’s such a big change. What exactly attracted you to the role of Heather?
SAVRE: Initially, I wanted to connect with a new character. I was drawn to the fact that this character seemed ambitious and driven, which is probably one similarity she shares with Maya. They’re both ambitious people.
Interestingly, their ambition probably comes from different places… although ambition often stems from trauma. Their trauma may be different.
But I was definitely drawn to the character from what I read — NK’s amazing writing and David’s writing of the episode. The way they built this character intrigued me.
I was excited about that. When I auditioned and put on the clothes for the audition, I knew she would be fun — high heels, blazers, the whole thing. Veronica J, the costume designer, killed it.
I walked on set wearing big-name brands, the Louboutins… everyone saw how excited I was the first couple of days because I was not wearing firefighter clothes anymore (as much as I love and miss them).
It was fun playing a character who, at least on the surface, is so vastly different from Maya.
TV FANATIC: Found has so many complex characters, especially women. It also explores themes of trauma and healing. How important is it to you to be part of a series that digs into these themes?
SAVRE: You nailed it. That’s what’s so beautiful about the show.
It has flawed characters with traumatic pasts who try their best to use their trauma to help save other people. It’s what makes you cry every episode — you watch them heal themselves as they heal others, bring families back together, and help those unseen be seen.
I love Oprah’s quote: “Turn your wounds into wisdom.” This show represents that so well.
With Heather, what’s interesting is discovering how — or if — she will do that. Will she turn her wounds into wisdom? Or will she have some missteps?
TV FANATIC: Will Heather interact with different characters throughout the show?
SAVRE: Yes, absolutely. Everyone in the M&A world and outside it. Being an attorney allows her to navigate everything — just like Trent, being a cop, can help in different ways. But he’s on the right side of the law.
With Heather, we wonder which side she’ll be on. Lawyers follow the law, but who do they represent? Good? Bad? And what defines “bad”?
You know, we can all justify our actions. But is it okay to justify them?
She plays a big part, even with how Lacey is trying to be a lawyer herself. You’ve got these worlds colliding. It’ll be interesting to see how Heather weaves through M&A, DCPD, and even Sir.
TV FANATIC: There are already so many theories circulating about your character. Have you seen any?
SAVRE: I’ve seen them all, and they’re entertaining! The Found audience is so passionate.
No one has seen a single scene I’m in yet, and the amount of theories is overwhelming — in the best way. It makes me excited to watch fans react as things unravel.
Even for me, at the start I knew very little. I came in blind. Eventually, NK told me everything — Heather’s past, her motivation, her ambition. It was fun to learn.
I can’t wait to see which theories are right or wrong.
TV FANATIC: What was the most challenging and most rewarding part of joining the cast and playing Heather?
SAVRE: The most challenging part was jumping onto a new show after seven years playing one character.
I was excited but also afraid. I questioned myself: Can I play another character? Do I know how to play anyone other than Maya?
It felt good when someone believed I could. By the end, I felt I had fully embodied Heather.
The most rewarding part? Feeling welcomed — by the creatives, the cast, and the fandom. That’s been truly rewarding.
TV FANATIC: What about joining a tight-knit cast? Was it intimidating?
SAVRE: They welcomed me with open arms. Shanola was singing from the moment I met her. She sang on my wrap day too.
Nkechi embraced and supported me. I’m very grateful.
My first scene wasn’t “normal” for Found — I showed up basically wearing almost nothing. Talk about being the new kid on the block! “Hi everyone… here I am!” [laughs]
TV FANATIC: Since we’re big Station 19 fanatics: do you think there’s ever a chance of revisiting Marina or the characters?
SAVRE: Never say never. I would love that, and so would the fans.
But I don’t want to give false hope. I know the producers tried to keep Station 19 going. I’d love to revisit the conversation about a Marina spinoff — if it were legally possible.
This industry is complicated. Rights, ownership… it’s layered.
But Stefania and I would say yes in a heartbeat. That’s not the obstacle.
I’m grateful for the years we got. And the show continues to live on through streaming. New fans are discovering it all the time.
TV FANATIC: Thank you for spending time with me! I’m excited to see what comes next for Heather.
SAVRE: I’m excited for you to watch it unfold. I hope you enjoy it!
